The intervention sought to draw inspiration from those values and those characters that the local stone was conveyed in the architecture of the land during the centuries. The material culture of this specific context is expressed through a syntax based on the techniques and construction procedures and the formal and distributional implications arising from local materials.
The use of stone - reinterpreted and matched with less traditional materials such as cement, corten or wood - Is a design choice with both formal as well as symbolic value, because while the technique of working stone has a well established building tradition that constrains the product architectonic, at the same time the stone becomes a symbolic extension of the natural landscape.
The house is a sequence of related spaces, self-organized according to a path, obtained by applying the principle of the box walls. Access is from the pedestrian path through the inner patio of relevance. The court, acting as a mediating element between the public space and housing, develops as the external projection of the residence, which is accessed and relate.
The result of the composition is a regular volume inserted into the terracing which in the roof is the natural link with the landscape.
The work of adaptation to the morphology and the characterization of the soil occurs through the realization of a base in the local stone, therefore, in continuity with the natural soil material. The base, exceeding the size of the building volumes created on the north-west side, identifies the relevance of open space, where he found placement the infinity pool overlooking the sea.
